A RUBBER CIGAR?

                                         
 
Thursday, July 14, 2011 -  I found more interesting shapes today... The birds woke me early this morning.  One was tweeting “witwit”.  Where In The World Is TrailLeader?  And another small one was chirping “visit er visit er visit her”.  So I got up to go walking down to the sycamore tree. 

                        

The first clue I noticed as I stepped out the driveway was a kid’s golf iron – my neighbor Jack’s golf iron.  And, I thought, hmmm, someone’s teed off?  WORDPLAY!  While Jack is sometimes “tea’d off” or mad at one of his sisters, here I was teeing off the day with a walk to see if I could find Lil Hoot.  I picked up the club and inspected it.  25 degrees... hmmm... I wonder what 25 means in angel numbers.
  
                                        
 

Along Cedar Avenue I found a silver dollar plant.  
  
                                        
  
Then I found more interesting pieces of Sycamore bark – one shaped like two heads, facing away from one another.  Hmmm, "two heads are better than one," I mused as I thought about the Who face I'd found two days earlier.  A second piece of bark reminded me of a pair of wings and a bird taking flight, and I wondered when Lil Hoot would get her wings and be old enough to fly.
  
                                        

Coming around the block I came upon a paper towel roll, stuffed with leaves and grass – looking like a giant cigar.  It reminded me of my fifth grade math teacher – Miss Lola May.  She was tall and commanding, and she would throw math problems at us rapid fire.  Then whenever one of us got the answer correct, she’d say, “You just earned a rubber cigar.!”  She was a tough teacher, but oh-so-fun.
 

Walking up the home stretch along Hemlock Drive I spotted a trail of pine needle clumps.  Each clump was shaped differently.  The last clump reminded me of a heron standing on its nest.  Hmmm... This is like reading tea leaves.   What does this clump look like to you?  
  
                                           

As I arrived home, I heard another bird crying “Tweeter tweeter tweeter," except this time it sounded like a hawk.  What is Nature trying to tell me?
