WHITE RABBIT

Sunday, August 14, 2011 – While lying in bed, something a small sharp pain in my big right toe awoke me just before 9 am.  The sharpness repeated several times.  Getting up and looking out the window, I could see that the rain was subsiding.  Time for my morning walk.

Heading out the door, I decided to play a new game -  spotting objects, or clues, and thinking of the first thing that came to my mind.  The first object was a basketball that had rolled away and gotten lost in the bushes, and I thought...

  Rubaiyat!

The Rubaiyat of Omar Khayyam is a poem written in 1120 A.D. by a famous Persian mathematician.  I was thinking of one particular verse, amusingly translated in 2001 by Scotsman named Richard Brodie...

Our Life equates to Basketball - we, trying
For Swooshes, how we hope to sink that Shot!
O bonny elegant Slam Dunk? not Life!
Then die, Death's Darkness hides Thee - Thanks a lot!

Next...

  Alice in Wonderland!

I had never heard of White Rabbit candy.  Picking up the wrapper and smoothing it out, the border tore off, because the paper wrapper was wet from the rain.  Upon close inspection of the border of the candy wrapper...

Ink blot!
Escher!
Tessellations!
Chess piece!
King or Queen?
Rubaiyat!

Bodie's verse in the Rubaiyat just prior the the basketball verse reads...

Life's basic Facts this Chess Match parallel:
Some merely Pawns, yet others Kingly; yea
Both transient indeed, yes, and anon
Both vanquished or dethroned and hid away.

Is this a mere coincidence?  and was the next object?...

  More bunnies?

   REALLY lichen this game!

  Pulling another rabbit
                                                    out of the hat!
                                                    TWO white rabbits!
                                                            Bleeding Hearts!

Bleeding Hearts?  Yes, Bleeding Hearts.  Bleeding Heart flowers come in two colors – red and white.  The white flowers make me think of Angels or Flying Hearts.  The two outer petals look like angel wings.  When you tug at the tips of the wings, they become handles that swing open the doors to the heart.  If you delicately pull off these outer petals, you will have two gentle white rabbits sitting in your hand.

Two White Rabbits made me think of Bleeding Hearts. The sixth object along my walk was a ‘game’ cigar wrapper.  “Game?”  Then I spotted the tip to the package, and the words “MARKER RED” caught my attention.

Jesus!  No, I was not swearing... I was thinking...
Jesus!  Vanquished?  Dethroned?

Of course he was.

Several days ago I had read a book titled, Heaven is for Real.  It's a recent topselling book about a 4-year-old boy, Colton, who had an out-of-body experience and visited heaven while he is very sick in the hospital.  Colton met Jesus and, in his innocence, described the "red markers" on Jesus' hands.

The seventh item was another cigar wrapper...

Another Rubber Cigar?

Two Wriggly Rabbits?
The doors to the heart fly open.

Inspired to do some research, I learned that the Flying Heart is the symbol of the Sufi Movement.  There is a story told in Arabia that the angels descended from heaven to earth and cut open the breast of the Prophet.  They took away something that was to be removed, and then the breast was made as before.  It is a symbolic expression, which gives to a Sufi a key to the secret of human life. What closes the doors of the heart is fear, confusion, depression, spite, discouragement, disappointment, and guilt.   When that is cleared away, the doors of the heart open.

The next layer of petals forms a bottle around the center of the heart.  I think of this as bottled up tears.  That explains the broken bottle I found on this very same walk...

  Jesus dethroned?  How shocking!

Break the two halves of the bottle apart from the flower, turn them sideways, and you have a pair of walking shoes and an open heart.  Walking opens up the heart.  Crying opens up the heart.  After my brother-in-law, a cardiologist, died two years ago, I went out walking in the rain, and I cried and cried.  A car passed by me with the license plate letters X and O.  Like a kiss and a hug... and I felt better.

When you break open the bottle, what remains at the center of the flower's open heart is a tiny candle - the light of the spirit.  This little light of mine... This part of the flower is called the pistil.  It is the female reproductive organ.

And, if you open the pod, which forms the candle, you find that it is filled with pearls - pearls of wisdom.  Our Creator has designed a most precious flower.  This is one of the many natural wonders we have yet to understand.
Apparently, heaven has also laid out one heckuva Spiritual Detective Fame.

The tip of the “game” cigar wrapper had the numbers 204 on it, and upon returning home I looked up the meaning in Doreen Virtue’s Angels Numbers 101 book...

“Angels surround you with God's healing love.  Open your heart and mind to receive this Divine gift, which is bringing blessings to you."

Bleeding Hearts and Angel Tears.  The shedding of blood only leads to the shedding of tears, and the angels are there to receive them.

May God’s love be with you!

(Spoke with Annie.  She just got back from a visit to the Angel Museum in Beloit, IL; that figures about right!)

QUESTIONS & ANSWERS FOR THE NATURALLY CURIOUS

Do you know all the different parts of the flower?

Cigarillo wrapper found on Middle Road, Sun., Oct. 2, 2011... Jesus?

Nah, couldn't be.  But maybe... a figurative message to tell me, "Girl, we are having fun up here, watching you as you wend all over the place.  Yessss, we are smokin' now. Things are gettin' real HOT!"
